A first science conference took place at the DWD headquarters from 8-12 June 2026 to report on the research progress made at DWD and in collaboration with universities, and to connect the different research groups to further improve synergies and collaborations.

In this context, a science slam was organised as part of an ice breaker to present research projects and activities in a creative and informal way. Anika Obermann-Hellhund took this chance to present the HErZ data sets in the form of a treasure chest awaiting to be opened and widely used by the scientific community.
