Iuliia Polkova presented HErZ at the EGU General Assembly in Vienna this year in the session “Networking, training, education and public engagement in interdisciplinary fields”. The session focused on the growing importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in geosciences and highlighted innovative approaches to research networking, training, and science communication. A central theme of the session was the need to bridge disciplinary boundaries in order to address complex Earth system questions, ranging from climate and environmental processes to astrobiology and geohazards. Several contributions emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary training and international research structures that support collaboration across scientific domains.
